Vermicomposting
PPPCS is using a worm composter to reduce the wastes from our fresh fruits and vegetables program. All students get a fresh fruit or vegetable "snack" everyday as a part of healthful eating initiative. The cores, peels, and leftovers are collected by students and fed to worms. Waste is reduced and rich compost is created for planting projects.
Recycling
Patterson Park Public Charter School recycles paper and all forms of containers. There is a paper recycling bin in every classroom and several container recycling cans throughout the building.
School Information Distribution Policy
PPPCS distributes newsletters and other information directed to our families electronically by request. Printed versions are always double-sided and given only to the youngest student in each family.
CFL Bulb Recycling Center
PPPCS is a community CFL bulb recycling site. A collection box sits right outside our Main Office. Bulbs are accepted from all community members.
